Cake Sale 22nd June
Coopers Edge Ballet School along with the Coopers Edge Ladies Race for Life Team – are having a Bring and Buy Cake Sale this Saturday morning – 9.30 – 11.30 at Coopers Edge School.
This committed team which includes Miss Ellie, some of our parents and a couple of girls from our Pre-School class! have been training hard in preparation for the race this Sunday.
Please come along and help us reach – and beat if we can – our fundraising target – if you don’t have time to bake don’t worry, come along anyway as there will be plenty of sweet treats to go round.

We are still continuing to decorate Lobleys Drive so if you would like to help then get in touch.

Dust off your knitting needles and dig out all that spare wool, we are going to decorate the main road through the estate with woolly cheerfulness! Woolly jackets for the trees, woolly bunting and woolly blossoms. No need to be super neat, garter stitch is fine, no need to weave the ends in, we need them to sew the decorations up. Cant knit? We’ll teach you! Don’t want to learn? Lend your support on the tree decoration team!

Garter stitch scarves for wrapping around the trees, i-cords for making bunting, and here’s a few patterns for inspiration;

A simple flower – cast on 8 stitches, cast off 6, transfer stitch on right hand needle on to left, (cast on 6, cast off 6, transfer stitch on right to left) repeat 4 more times. Cut yarn and thread onto a tapestry needle, take through 1st stitch and weave in and out of straight edge, pill tight to close flower.

A Triangle for Bunting – cast on 3 stitches, knit 2 rows, increase 1 stitch at the end of next row, and then increase 1 stitch at the end of every following 3rd row until you have 17 stitches. Cast off loosely.

Yarn weight and needle size is personal preference, but bigger is quicker and will make a better visual impact! For inspiration have a look at yarn-bombing on wikipeadia!
