Firstly thanks to everyone that took the time to submit an idea to Coopers Den, the time, passion and hard work you are prepared to put into the community has been truly amazing to see. Also huge thanks to everyone who came along to support the event – we know we were up against some very stiff competition from X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing. And finally thanks to our amazing dragons for all their hard work in reading the proposals in detail and on the night.
We had eight applications in all
- Edgy Stagers
- Coopers Edge in Bloom
- The Coopers Edge Shop Project
- University of Gloucestershire Sports Coaches
- Coopers Edge Gardening
- Coopers Edge Football Club
- Coopers Edge Health, Wellbeing and Activity Support.
The judges were blown away by the quality of the pitches and the hard work that everyone had put it and it was very hard to make decisions when there was so much talent on show. On the night the dragon made some decisions about which projects they were going to put forward and which projects they would like to see refine their applications and will meet with the projects in the coming weeks to agree exact amounts of funding.
Successful on the night were Edgy Stagers, PHASE, The Coopers Edge Shop Project and Coopers Edge Football Club. The dragons invited Coopers Edge in Bloom and Coopers Edge Gardening to work together to combine their projects which they agreed to do and this revised plan will also be progressed.
The University of Gloucestershire and Coopers Edge Health, Wellbeing and Activity Support were also asked to sit down together and look at resubmitting a combined application and when they have done this the dragons will review it again.
Looks out for news on the website of when the projects will be starting very soon and thanks to everyone who took part!
