101 has come to Gloucestershire
A new police phone number has been introduced for non-emergency contact with the nearest police station : 101 replaces the local 0845 090 1234 number.
101 is now the main number to call your local police, when it’s less urgent than 999. Call 101 to report crime and other concerns that do not require an emergency response.
For example:
If your car has been stolen
If your property has been damaged
Where you suspect drug use or dealing
If you want to report a minor traffic collision
If you want to give the police information about crime in your area
You can call 101 if you wish to be put in contact with your local police officer.
When to ring 999
In an emergency always call 999 when you need an immediate response
When a crime is in progress
Someone suspected of a crime is nearby
When there is danger to life
When violence is being used or threatened
